Dr. med. Jochen Peter
SPECIALIST IN VASCULAR SURGERY
Dr. Jochen Peter studied human medicine at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz from 2001 to 2007. During his studies, he gained clinical experience in Vienna and in Koblenz at the Bundeswehr Central Hospital.
He began his specialist training as a surgeon in 2007 at the general surgery clinic at Markuskrankenhaus Frankfurt under Prof. Dr. Karl-Hermann Fuchs, a proven specialist in minimally invasive surgery.
He then moved to Frankfurt University Hospital in 2010, which FOCUS magazine repeatedly ranked as one of the ten best hospitals in Germany out of a total of almost two thousand hospitals.
There, he completed his further training as a specialist in vascular surgery at the Clinic for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery under Prof. Dr. Schmitz-Rixen, one of Germany's most renowned vascular surgeons. In addition, Dr. Peter acquired the advanced training certificate in phlebology from the German Society of Phlebology.
From 2013, Dr. Peter worked as a senior physician, and in the same year he received an award from the German Society of Surgery for his scientific work on Hughes-Stovin syndrome. He published articles in specialist journals, gave numerous lectures at congresses and advanced training courses and was also involved in teaching and training students.
In 2015, Dr. Peter took over a vein practice in Wilhelmstraße, where he introduced the focus on endovenous procedures such as laser, radio wave and VenaSeal and established the Phlebicum.
Since 2018, he has been a board member of the Professional Association of Registered Vascular Surgeons and, since 2019, a member of the Phlebology Commission of the German Society for Vascular Surgery and Vascular Medicine. in 2020, he was elected to the board of the German Society for Vascular Surgery and Vascular Medicine.
Dr. Peter is married and has two children.
