Effect of Botox:

Blockade of nerve impulses. Botox temporarily blocks the nerve impulses to the treated muscles by inhibiting the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for muscle contraction.

Inhibition of the muscles. By inhibiting the muscles, their ability to contract is reduced or suspended. This leads to temporary paralysis of the treated muscles.

Relaxation of the skin. As the treated muscles are relaxed, the overlying skin becomes smoother and existing wrinkles are reduced or disappear.

Results of wrinkle treatment with Botox:

Reduction of expression lines. Botox is particularly effective in the treatment of mimic wrinkles caused by repeated muscle contractions, such as forehead wrinkles, frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) and crow's feet around the eyes.

However, Botox is not suitable for all types of wrinkles, especially wrinkles caused by volume loss or other skin problems.

The results are temporary and usually last for about three to six months. Refresher treatments can be carried out to maintain the effect.
